Government Contracts

We represent large defense contractors and other government contractors in the preparation, negotiation and litigation of claims arising from contracts with agencies of the federal government (including the Defense Department, the individual military services, General Services Administration, Veterans Administration, Corps of Engineers, Postal Service, GAO's Comptroller General, and Department of Energy), as well as with state and local governmental agencies. We have prepared and litigated government contract claims of $100 million or more involving bid protests, defective pricing, termination for default and convenience, defective specifications, false claims, and other issues peculiar to public contracting.

Construction Claims

We represent a broad range of construction companies, from small specialty contractors to billion dollar construction and engineering companies. Our services include the review and drafting of contract documents, advice on claims avoidance and risk analysis, in house seminars for project level personnel, and the preparation, negotiation and litigation of claims. We have prepared claims over $50 million and litigated construction claims over $100 million.

Commercial Contract Litigation

In addition to the specialized areas of construction and government contract law, we represent clients in the resolution of general commercial disputes arising from their contractual relationships. We have litigated commercial disputes in the $20 million to $50 million range.

Relations with Federal Agencies

We gather information about contracting opportunities with various federal agencies and, consistent with our ethical obligations, counsel and represent clients in developing and maintaining positive relationships with federal contracting agencies and in developing strategies for obtaining government contracts.

Suretyship Law

We represent construction sureties in disputes arising from their performance and payment bonds.
